Curriculum

The Alice Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum - the document published by the DFES, which sets out goals for learning for children to achieve by the end of their Reception Year. The guidance divides children's learning and development into six areas:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Problem solving, number and reasoning
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world (i.e. exploration and investigation, sense of time, sense of place, design & technology and ICT)
  • Physical development
  • Creative development (i.e. arts, music and imaginative play)
