PGHS celebrates World Book Day!

World Book Day on 3rd March gave all of us at Palmers Green High School a marvellous opportunity to celebrate the amazing wealth of literature we can enjoy. Younger pupils greatly enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character – including ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’, ‘Nanny McPhee’, ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’, ‘Cinderella’ and many different witches! Older pupils enjoyed trying to guess the titles of books from the clues carried by staff and fellow pupils, and all Senior School lessons began with short readings from the teacher’s favourite book. Girls throughout the main school were also inspired by visits from a number of authors, whose diverse experiences enriched their books. Michelle Harrison (author of 13 Treasures series) met with pupils from Years 5, 6 ,7 & 8 and Pippa Goodhart (author of Winnie the Witch, You Choose & Raven Boy) will be meeting with pupils from Reception through to Year 6 next week.
