Year 7 girls were joined by Year 7 boys from Keble Preparatory School on Monday for a Study Skills Seminar. An external consultant Mr Martin Vanderspoel delivered the seminar and covered many topics which included: organisational skills, setting targets, memory techniques, understanding and summarising, learning styles, association mapping and ‘PE for the mind’. Study Skills is a vitally important part of the school’s Life Skills programme to encourage successful methods of study and to enable pupils to fulfil their potential. All the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day and felt they had learnt some new skills that will prove invaluable to them during their school careers and beyond.
“My daughter came home so inspired and motivated by what she learnt throughout the day on the Study Skills Seminar. The information pack was very thought provoking and a good reference tool for us all. Please convey my thanks to everyone involved in making this seminar so successful. “
