Congratulations to Ruvini in Year 10 who was duly elected as a member of Enfield’s Youth Parliament on Friday evening along with Georgia as her deputy. Nineteen schools took part across the borough and fifty-six pupils stood for election, including five candidates from Palmers Green High School.  The five short-listed candidates from PGHS all attended the evening at St Anne’s School in London Road. The Mayor of Enfield was in attendance, along with other key council representatives.  The results were announced by Cllr Ayfer Orhan, Enfield council’s cabinet member for education, children’s services and protection. Cllr Orhan said: “The contribution made by the Enfield Youth Parliament is invaluable because it gives the council real insight into the concerns of younger residents.”
