Onatti Productions perform a French Play called 'Le Chateau' to Junior pupils

1st August 2020

Onatti Productions came in to perform a French play called Le Chateau (The Castle) to Years 4, 5 and 6 last Friday.  Pupils from Year 4 were also invited to join in the fun from St. Monica’s Primary School.

The play.

The year is 1540.

A Young English Knight, William Babbington travels to France in search of a beautiful French Mademoiselle.  But not for himself, he has been sent by King Henry VIII to find a suitable wife – his fourth!  He learns of beautiful young Mademoiselle called Catherine living in a small castle nearby.  If this Catherine is truly beautiful then all William needs to do is to convince her to be King Henry V111’s wife and paint her portrait.  Easy? Not if you can’t speak French or paint.

The play was performed by two actors; one French actress and one English actor and the play was performed in a fun and interactive way so that pupils could follow the story through the vocabulary, the action and the gestures and sentiment used.  All pupils thoroughly enjoyed this fabulous production.
