1st August 2020
Pupils from Year 1 to 7 celebrated World Book Day today by dressing up a potato as their favourite book character. They also brought in a book to take part in a ‘DEAR’ event: at two points during the day the bell rang and everyone had to ‘Drop Everything And Read’ for 5 minutes!
Nursery pupils brought in their favourite book and talked about why they liked it. Rather than dressing up, staff carried ‘clues’ to books or characters and the girls had fun trying to guess what they were.
Authors Sophie Cleverly and Harriet Whitehorn also visited the school to speak to the girls in Years 3 to 6 about their work and author Non Pratt is due to visit tomorrow to speak to Years 10 and 11.
