1st August 2020

That was how delegates described Barry Smith’s training course for Modern Foreign Language teachers held at Palmers Green High School on Thursday. Primarily aimed at high achieving schools belonging to the Girls’ Schools’ Association (GSA) in London and the surrounding areas, the course enabled Mr Smith to share practical strategies, challenge traditional approaches and reinforce the importance of establishing high expectations of all pupils.

Mme Katia Parry-Garnaud, Head of MFL at PGHS, whose enthusiasm for Mr Smith’s teaching and training methods were the catalyst for the event, said “judging from the course feedback all the delegates thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and took away lots of new ideas to put into practice” .

Verbatim quotes from delegates:

“Barry’s energy and personality makes him a great role model for the classroom. The posters and grids he used were fabulous and the high expectations for pupils inspirational.”
