Year 7 present a cheque to their chosen charity ‘Little Hearts Matter’

1st August 2020

Year 7 presented a cheque in senior school assembly this morning for £1,140 to Rowan, one of the parent volunteers from Little Hearts Matter. Year 7 organised many activities to raise the money for this very important charity, including a bake sale, a name the teddy bear competition, sales of their PGL activity trip CD and the production of a magazine called ‘Heartbeat’. The girls have been working tremendously hard over the past weeks to produce the magazine, which will be going on sale tomorrow for a minimum donation of £1. All the money raised from this will help save lives. In addition the charity received two fantastic donations, one from Lions Club of Enfield and another from an anonymous donor. After the assembly the girls had the opportunity to ask Rowan questions about the charity. Little Hearts Matter offers support and information, and raises awareness of those affected when a child has only half a heart, due to conditions such as Complex Pulmonary Atresia, Tricuspid Atresia, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) or Double Inlet or Outlet Ventricle (Univentricular Heart). Thank you to everyone involved in raising money for this worthy cause.
