20th August 2020
We would like to praise the GCSE Class of 2020 for the personal strength and resilience that they have shown during this very challenging time. Across the UK, students left their schools in March with a sense of uncertainty about what the summer would hold for them and how their accomplishments would be recognised.
We are delighted that the most recent changes mean that all pupils across the country should now receive the grades that they have been working towards over the last two years, determined by the people who know them and their achievements the best rather than by an algorithm producing seemingly unfair results.
Congratulations to our own very hard-working Year 11, who continued with their studies throughout lockdown to complete, review and revise their GCSE material. They then all embarked with great enthusiasm on Bridging the Gap courses to prepare for sixth form. Their work ethic, determination and perseverance will serve them well as they embark on their A-Levels in September.
Such dedication and commitment are qualities expected of all pupils at PGHS and this in part ensures that all pupils’ results contribute to and therefore uphold the longstanding tradition of excellent results at PGHS.
PGHS wish the Class of 2020 every continued success for the future and look forward to them returning to see us as our alumnae!
