Our Year 11 Drama group presented three superb short plays to a full house last night. The plays were ‘The Dummy Tree’ by Conor Mitchell, ‘Be My Baby’ by Amanda Whittington and ‘Dr Korczak’s Example’ by David Greig.
PGHS teachers and pupils dressed up as book characters to celebrate world book day. The author Kate Saunders visited the classrooms and the girls very much enjoyed Ms Saunders lively session. She commented upon the many colourful characters, of which some resembled the character from her book Belfry Witches.
Our Year 11 pupils organised a most enjoyable and colourful charity event in aid of ‘Rays of Sunshine’. Judging from the number of girls with painted faces and nails – and the vast quantity of cakes, popcorn and fruit skewers which were sold this was an extremely popular and well-planned event. Firefighters from Edmonton Fire Station visited the Alice Nursery to talk to the children about their role in the community as part of the nursery’s curriculum ‘people who help us’. The girls had the opportunity to sit in the fire engine and spray water from the hoses!
