Stephen Spender Prize competition

During the Summer Term 2024 some of our Year 10 pupils who study French entered the Stephen Spender Prize competition run by Stephen Spender Trust. This is a leading annual prize for poetry in translation.
The results have landed and this year we are delighted to announce that Lola (now Year 11) received a commendation for her translation of the poem ‘Soleil et Eau’ by Aime Cesaire.
Lola attends the Online Celebration Event on the 20th November and the results with her name will also be announced on the Stephen Spender Prize website afterwards.
Congratulations to Lola on this fantastic achievement.
