20th August 2026
Congratulations to our GCSE Class of 2026, whose exceptional examination results are a testament to their hard work, determination and resilience. This year, the School’s overall percentage of GCSEs at grades 9-8 was an outstanding 49%, while an impressive 77% achieved grades 9-7.
Executive Head, Mrs Claire Robinson, commented:
“I am delighted that our final set of GCSE results shows not only an improvement on last year but a fitting way to end, and something every pupil and member of staff should be proud of.
Since the announcement in January that this would be our final year, our pupils and staff had every reason to lose focus. Instead, they raised their game. This year’s results build on 2025: 49% of grades were at 9 or 8, 77% at grade 7 or above, 91% at grade 6 or above, and 98% at grade 5 or above, across a range of 19 subjects. Computer Science, Music and Spanish achieved 100% of entries at grade 7 or above and Biology, Chemistry, French, Geography, History, Maths and Physics all turned in outstanding results too with over 80% at grades 7 and above.
Among all of our pupils who will be enjoying their well-deserved celebrations today are two of our top performing pupils who achieved eight grade 9s and two grade 8s each – a remarkable personal achievement in any year, let alone this one.
That these results, delivered in the shadow of closure, are an improvement on last year’s, says everything about the character of this school community. Our staff kept teaching with the same care and rigour they always have. Our pupils kept working, kept believing in themselves, and kept turning up for each other right to the end.
This is not the ending any of us would have chosen for this school. But if it had to end, I could not have asked for a better way to do it – with ambition, with belief in every child, and with results the whole community can be proud of. We are enormously proud of every pupil and every member of staff who made this happen. What a way to finish!”
We wish all our pupils every success and happiness as they move on to their new schools and colleges to begin the next stage of their educational journey.
