Year 7 pupils performed a showcase of their musical talents at the end of the half term, with songs ranging from popular music (Louis Capaldi, Adele and Benson Boone) to classical and jazz. There was a wide range of talent on show, and despite Faye M only learning the violin for 5 weeks, she still played ‘Rhythm Fever’ on the violin.
Group performances were of songs written or inspired by black artists in celebration of Black History Month, and pupils introduced them with a few lines about their composers. Stand by Me by Ben E. King even had the addition of different shaped vuvuzelas!
The pupils clearly enjoyed being in front of an audience and their emotional parents were there to support them. Well done Year 7! There’s a bright future for senior music!
