Inspection Reports

We are pleased to share the Independent Schools Inspectorate’s (ISI) report following their visit to Palmers Green High School in March 2025.

Our inspection confirmed that we comply with all statutory regulations (The Independent School Standard Regulations). In addition, we have been recognised as having a significant strength for our provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Our inspection was conducted under the new framework, introduced in September 2023. There are no longer any single word judgements, such as ‘excellent,’ about schools and rather reports focus on evidence that inspectors explore during their time in the school. The process is rigorous and places an emphasis on what inspectors see and hear, which includes interviews with pupils, staff and governors, lesson observations, work scrutiny and questionnaires.

A “significant strength” is the highest accolade an inspector can award, indicating an area of provision (in one of the first four areas listed above) that demonstrates exceptional and beneficial impact for pupils. This recognition is awarded when a school excels in a specific area, showing a deep understanding of pupil development and strong leadership.

Ms Proudlove told the school community: “The school inspection was an opportunity for our staff and pupils to demonstrate the fantastic work which takes place at PGHS every single day and therefore it is all the more pleasing to receive a report which articulates so effectively our school ethos and the lived experience. It is clear from the verbal feedback we received and the written summary in the report, that the ISI inspectors were highly impressed with what they found during their visit. The inspection report really brings to life all that we achieve across every aspect of school life and highlights our commitment to enable pupils to strive for academic excellence in a nurturing environment which puts emotional wellbeing and personal development at its heart.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at PGHS for their commitment and dedication to ensuring our pupils are thriving. I was thrilled to see the way that the pupils interacted with the inspectors, proudly sharing their love for their school, showcasing their many achievements and their wonderful personalities.”
